Black Parade

Black Parade is a song about the tragedy of young suicide victims and the despair, waste and loss, for both current and future generations of those left behind and directly affected. Those looking to end their lives believe that they will pass on to the Black Parade, a modern alternative to the traditional visions of Heaven or Hell. There they will be welcomed by like-minded sympathetic emos or emotionals and live again in a twilight Shangri La far better suited to their acute, but fragile and vulnerable state of mind. The song starts with a welcome from those already on the other side, a call to join their church of fellowship, their House of Holy, and to do so immediately, tonight. The call to come to glory, is answered by the protagonist, death is come and, in the second verse we hear the despair of those left behind. Perhaps from a father or mother, sibling, friend or lover, agonising over the death of their loved one. Your breath is gone, your kiss is cold, is followed by a reflection of the grass is greener viewpoint and the belief in an afterlife paradise to come. Those who martyr themselves in death in this life will sometimes do so in the absolute certainty that in the next life love, fame or wealth is theirs for the taking. Your days are silver, your nights are gold describes the yellow brick road journey to a promised land of fame and riches, far away from the here and now reality of anonymity, struggle and penury. Then we have a reference to the great lie posthumously sworn to those who have passed on or have fallen in battle, that they will never be forgotten, that their name will live forever more that age will not weary them or the years condemn, I know youll never get older now. The suicide of one so young takes away not just everything they have but everything they would have had, All that youll never be, and kills future generations of entire unborn families, All the sons youll never see, ultimately because, Everything is gone. Any work on suicide has to reference Shakespeares Prince of Denmarks speech at some point and here we have an obvious homage with To see or not to see. However, this refers to the choice that we all daily make, to accept as a fact the mindless mediocrity of our mundane everyday existence, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them? To die: to sleep. The choice to sleep is often portrayed as the cowards way out by a misunderstanding society, but the song takes the view that it is far braver and more honest not to live a lie, I knew you couldnt bear to be here long, refers both to this and to the burden of dishonesty the protagonist can no longer bear to carry. The imagery of death is often associated with floral tributes and the gradual fading of colour, Still you lie with a pale white Rose, describes the traditional open casket view and societies obsession with the Sunday-best presentation of the deceased, Sharp dressed in final pose. The words lie and pose here also refer to liars and poseurs and have added meaning as they describe qualities the protagonist can no longer bear to be. Finally we see the imagery of the Ferryman, in Greek Mythology Kharon was the Ferryman of the dead, an underworld spirit who gathered the dead from the upper world and guided them in his boat to a final resting place in the land of the dead. The fee for his service was a coin which was placed in the mouth of a corpse at burial. Ultimately this is a song about loss and waste, Everything is gone, but the song also respects the views and honesty of those who have eventually come to terms with their own inability to live a lie in an age of facades, and to look for an alternative world on distant shores. A land of the dead in the world of the Black Parade.

Part-97 Description: We have learned that the weekly Sabbath-rest or the ordinary 7th day Sabbath that falls on Saturday on the Roman Catholic calendar cannot be changed. God had showed us also that we should joyfully obey and participate on this weekly Sabbath-rest to make us holy, to experience it and to remind us of the eternal rest in His paradise and kingdom. Consecration to God means not just our spiritual and inner-self; it involves the whole of us, including our outside appearance: neatness, cleanliness and proper hygiene. Includes also is the clean clothes and the clean food we eat; having sex considered unclean too. Before we commune with God we need to consecrate our self. God made the Sabbath holy, and in that holy day we commune with God. Prior to enter God-given Holy Sabbath, we need to consecrate ourselves. We need to abstain for sexual relations 24-hours before Sabbath, on the whole day of the Preparation Day and during the whole Sabbath day, for another 24-hour. Gods people are not allowed to eat unclean food as He instructed us in Leviticus chapter eleven, also blood and fat are not to be eaten. (Lev. 3: 17 “`This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.’”) We need to take a bath and wear clean clothes to attend Sabbath worship. We need to confess our sins to God asking for forgiveness. If we did not adhere to the prescribed regulations, we are considered unholy and therefore unworthy to attend the Sabbath-rest gatherings. We are considered unclean and therefore not authorize to participate in the Holy Sabbath congregation of the Way believers. During Holy Sabbath gatherings, we have fellowship not only with the community of holy believers but with the Holy Spirit God our Father. We sing holy songs, worship, and praise and pray to God. Gods Spirit cannot be with us if we are unholy or unclean. The prayer of the righteous person is like sweet incense for God and He heard them. We shall receive everything we ask if it is for our own good and it is in accordance to the will of God. During the fellowship of the clean and holy believers, our whole self are re-charged and revitalize. Our body, spirit and soul feel happy, contented, stress-free, and healthy. We are protected from sickness, hardship, calamities, and against the evil spirits, evil persons and evil animals. God provides everything we needs; we are surrounded with His holy angels and guided by the Holy Spirit within us. We are connected to the living God; we could feel His presence, love and protection. We have no fear, we conquered even death. We knew that God is alive and always take good care of us and everything we needs. He reveals in the Holy Scripture endless wonderful truth that we need to know; He communicates to us through this way. We shall thank God always through Jesus name for everything and anything whether it is good or bad in our own ways of thinking. Have faith that God is perfect and only want the best for us, His children. On Sabbath-rest, we need to be re-charge, give all our anxiety, problems and worry to God, and feel that the Lord is good.

But there is another order of knowledge, which man cannot possibly arrive at by his own powers: the order of divine Revelation.Through an utterly free decision, God has revealed himself and given himself to man. This he does by revealing the mystery, his plan of loving goodness, formed from all eternity in Christ, for the benefit of all men. God has fully revealed this plan by sending us his beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. ARTICLE I - THE REVELATION OF GOD I. GOD REVEALS HIS PLAN OF LOVING GOODNESS “It pleased God, in his goodness and wisdom, to reveal himself and to make known the mystery of his will. His will was that men should have access to the Father, through Christ, the Word made flesh, in the Holy Spirit, and thus become sharers in the divine nature.” God, who “dwells in unapproachable light”, wants to communicate his own divine life to the men he freely created, in order to adopt them as his sons in his only-begotten Son.[3] By revealing himself God wishes to make them capable of responding to him, and of knowing him and of loving him far beyond their own natural capacity. The divine plan of Revelation is realized simultaneously “by deeds and words which are intrinsically bound up with each other” and shed light on each another. It involves a specific divine pedagogy: God communicates himself to man gradually. He prepares him to welcome by stages the supernatural Revelation that is to culminate in the person and mission of the incarnate Word, Jesus Christ. St. Irenaeus of Lyons repeatedly speaks of this divine pedagogy using the image of God and man becoming accustomed to one another: The Word of God dwelt in man and became the Son of man in order to accustom man to perceive God and to accustom God to dwell in man, according to the Father’s pleasure. II. THE STAGES OF REVELATION In the beginning God makes himself known “God, who creates and conserves all things by his Word, provides men with constant evidence of himself in created realities. And furthermore, wishing to open up the way to heavenly salvation - he manifested himself to our first parents from the very beginning.” He invited them to intimate communion with himself and clothed them with resplendent grace and justice. This revelation was not broken off by our first parents’ sin. “After the fall, God buoyed them up with the hope of salvation, by promising redemption; and he has never ceased to show his solicitude for the human race. For he wishes to give eternal life to all those who seek salvation by patience in well-doing. Even when he disobeyed you and lost your friendship you did not abandon him to the power of death. Again and again you offered a covenant to man.

My version is a reflection of two other great Christian songwriters - Bruce Cockburn and Michael Been of The Call. I consider these to be three of the highest caliber, genius Christian Rock musicians. They are amazing songwriters and performers - period. Their songs have always been an inspiration and HUGE influence on what I do as a musician whom chases the the Great Muse. These songs come from somewhere out of the thin air. As I became a believer, I realized they are a gift from the one who died for us so we could live and never know death - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. 1×1x1 = 1 To me, Christian Rock is not some exclusive club that can only be listened to by Christians. We are simply singing from our hearts the most important Truth that resonates in us day and night as anybody sings what they feel most passionate about. Peace About my version - it is a mixture of all the above and what God hard-wired into me: Psalm 98:4?Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. That is my life verse and purpose. I am sometimes criticized for my music by Christians as being too loud, noisy and angry sounding. My intention is quite the opposite and Psalm 98:4 is my Scriptural proof that we can make a “loud noise” as praise. God knows my heart. Nobody sings off key when singing to God.
