The official Chinese news agency says about 10 Tibetan demonstrators have been killed, supporting protests begun by Buddhist monks in the capital city of Lhasa. Tibetan exile groups say at least 30 people have died. The protests of monks and others may not deliver freedom to Tibet anytime soon, but freedom is an effervescent ideal that can’t be bottled up forever.
