Tithing (Abraham only tithed once from the spoils of war)

Abraham did not tithe of his income, but only once from the spoils of war. There is no record that he ever tithed again. There is no record that he tithed of his income. Therefore Abrahams story cannot be used to prove that tithing is a New Testament pattern that we should obey. We are not under the Law or under the tithe. We are to be directed by the Holy Spirit how to give, and we should give, as all we have comes to us from God. We should give freely to the ministries that work for the gospel of Jesus Christ, to the local church and other ministries, to the needy and as we are directed by the Holy Spirit to give.
